EQUITY MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: Ghana stock market is recovering; returns 44.23% (YtD)
The Ghana stock market at the end of the week gained 46.81 points to close the week with an annual return of 44.23% thanks to the price hikes achieved on nine (9) shares with Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) closing the week as the most traded, accounting for 92.8% of the total traded value.
As a result, the benchmark GSE Composite (GSE-CI) closed the week at 2,800.36. The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also gained 29.40 points to close the week at 1,959.18, which translates into an annual return of 9.90%.
The volume traded was 4.43 million shares, representing an increase of 29.24% from the previous week. The total traded value was GH ¢ 5.84 million, an increase of 72.08% from the previous week.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FIXED INCOME MARKET
In last week’s auction, a total of GH 551.76 million was raised in 91-day bills, GH 701.86 million in 182-day bills and GH 1,244.07 million in outstanding bonds. 6 years against 1 144.98 million GH in 91 day bonds. , GH ¢ 64.66 million in 182-day bills and GH ¢ 312.88 million in 364-day bills in the previous week’s auction.
The 91-day and 182-day bill yields improved slightly from 0.001% and 0.017% to 12.45% and 13.20% respectively. The 6-year bond fell to 18.80%.
The next auction target is GH ¢ 1474 million in 91 and 182 day bills.
