Macquarie Asset Management has appointed Alex James to lead product development, capital raising and client coverage in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for its global real estate business.
Alex joins as Managing Director and Head of Property, Client Solutions Group EMEA to lead a team of specialists focused on Macquarie Asset Management’s global range of property products – ranging from opportunistic strategies, which involve partnerships with specialist operators to invest in real estate designed for the world of tomorrow, in core and core plus real estate.
Based in London, Alex will report to Adam Lygoe, head of Macquarie Asset Management’s client solutions group in EMEA, who said: “Alex will play a central role in shaping and developing the client engagement strategy. He is a seasoned real estate professional who has led equity raising efforts for a range of real estate strategies for many years.

Prior to joining Macquarie Asset Management, Alex was Head of Capital Markets at Round Hill Capital and prior to that Managing Director at Hines. He began his career in real estate with Lehman Brothers and is a former Royal Navy officer.
